1) TIPS FOR PRACTICAL USAGE (of Designs)

If you are using a CNC machine or Laser;

  • And you wish to size and extrude the design to your exact preferences, then import one of the provided SVG or DXF files into your CAD software.

If you DON’T have a CNC machine;

  • Utilise the PDF or PNG format. Print the design and either manually make a template (e.g. from plywood or Plexiglass/Acrylic/Perspex), OR attach the print out directly to the timber and cut it out with a bandsaw or jigsaw.

2) HOW TO BUILD in 5 STEPS

  1. Download the design.
  2. Cut out the shape either using a CNC Machine OR printing the design to paper, attaching it to the board and then cutting the shape out using a band-saw or jigsaw.
  3. Add your preferred roundover OR chamfer to the edges (with router). If you don’t have a router you can simply sand the edges instead.
  4. Sand the board working your way up through the grits (to at least 180 or 240 grit is recommended).
  5. Apply your finish of choice (A food safe finish is strongly recommended for cutting/serving boards etc).
